The greatest band of all time?....

...even better than bon jovi i've heard.

I've mentioned the genius of Adam Buxton (of Adam and Joe fame) before, could'nt help but chuckle at this little number...you should check out Adam and Joes podcasts for 6music too...

Royal mail matter...

Basically get random free stuff, sure some of its crap and some its ok sent to you for free from the royal mail, I love hoarding so this seems perfect I will let you know what I get wheh I recieve my first package...

In their words...

"Matter is a box full of interesting stuff.

Matter is a new way for companies to talk to people by giving them real, physical stuff–useful, amusing or interesting things to keep, give away or talk about.

Matter comes to your door on a Saturday morning with a selection of engaging items, each from a different brand. When it comes it’s worth putting the kettle on."

Get you free stuff here

Barcode plantage...

Web applications and widgets and all that.....

..Widgets are becoming an increasingly popular application, I've noticed at work we are increasingly suing them...I thought I'd introduce you to a few of my favourites..

Sprint widget
: Not really of any use other than really interesting and well designed, highly interacive and well done...

Adobe KulerThis application by Adobe is a way of mixing and matching colors through a variety of differentways, really useful widget to have on your desktop.

Netvibes This platform allows you to have multiple applications on one page, so your twitter, hotmail, facebook, and various other sites can all be viewed on one page with live updates..saves time and makes the day go faster at work.

Obama to save the world...

SO last week Mr Obama won the presidency, I hoped he'd win so that was all good, does seem to be a significant moment for our generation but can't help but feel its all a bit over-the-top America once again...

Do like this campaign though, you can check the site here for more images/info...

Burglary...

Simple, to the point, disturbing...

This is my favourite story EVER...

"A paramedic who ate celery while his colleague jokingly put a prawn on a dying man's chin as he was given shock treatment was suspended for six months"

Thats all you're getting, please read on for further stories of cooking prawns on chins....

Read it here

W the film...

“If I were George Bush, I would shoot myself. I think he lives in fear of drinking again. There's nothing more dangerous for America than an ex-alcoholic President who tells you to believe in Jesus.”

Oliver Stone.

Everybody needs good neighbours...

Joy of viral advertising...

..so somebody found a fault in the new ea sports tiger woods game when tiger walked on water and posted it on you tube. EA responded with theis witty viral. What makes this a great ad for ea sports is that they responded directly to their core market and create wide publicity easily and cheaply, through blogs like this etc. Bravo.

How to....

...dress like a designer?

stick note experiment...

This is doing the rounds on blogs and around work but a really nice idea well done, reminds me somewhat of bravia, not in temrs of scale but a really nice idea executed well.

Hovis...122 years in 122 seconds.

Add to celebrate hovis' history, really nicely done and combines the heritige and brand brand of the bread makers really well...

Interactive medals map....

Got sent this link to NY times interactive medal map, shows up to date medal tallys and what more you can look at all the previous olympic totals, nice design and good bit of information design....

Check out 1908 man!, we were seriously whipping some butt in 1908!...

I want one....

Now I love where I live, its got novelty 'creepy' value and near an 'award winning DLR station', not to mention the DLR is the future of travelling, no driver! I mean come on it's got back to the future all over it.....

...but now Im thinking this is where it's at, pre fab houses, awesome!.....

Olympics update...

So Britain had a great weekend at the olympics, fair play.
Some of my highlights from the weekend...

Usain Bolt is the fastest man in the world...by a long way...and he showboats...

..and I fell in love with an american pole vaulter after a tip off from work.

360.....

The first music video ever shot with a 360 degree panoramic lens.
A tripped out journey into the track "My 1st Big Break"....

Cut Chemist - 1st Big Break from eyestorm on Vimeo.

olympia 1....

So its olympics time as I've mentioned before, branding and information design are central to each Olympic experience so it's interesting to see different takes on the logo. Some of the iconic designs seem to have been lost in the last decade or so which is why I quite like the different approach taken by Wolff Olins for London 2012. We'll obviously put on a shite show, and the 100+ year old tube system will weep and crumble to dust, but hey, it will be summer, and andy murray and tom daley might not be dissapointing failures (Ill let Tom off)...
